Here the report from "Down Under"
In the Australian Nationals held in Waikerie from January 4th to 15th, 2010, the Ventus 2cx placed first and second overall in the 18m Class. In first place was Bruce Taylor, 7614 points, and in second place Lars Zehnder with 7385 points.
In the Open class perennial the competitor Gerrit Kurstjens finished a close second place in his Nimbus 4T.
The competition was interesting in regard to some special weather! On day 4 Bruce flew a 527km task at 171kph, then on day 5 Lars flew a 497km task at more than 177 kph! On day 5 the cloudbase reached 15,000 feet and climbs were in the order of 12 knots average. This flight was the highest speed ever achieved in Australian Nationals.
