On the Aero in Friedrichshafen/Germany we presented our new Duo Discus x cockpit for the first time. Security, space and ergonomics were the main focus of this advancement. Due to the longer cockpit, the pilots with more than 2 m body size now have a comfortable seat as well. The effective adjusting possibilities at the backrests and pedals improve the seat comfort also for the small pilots. The result and the impressions by numerous pilots which seat in the cockpit showed us a very good result and gave the best feedback that we could wish. Further the front instrument panel is now designed to tilt up to improve the ease of getting in and out as well as the emergency exit. The control levers are placed according to ergonomic criteria and customers requests, and were arranged in optimal position with functional design. The backwards extended canopy improves the view of the pilot in the rear seat. The prototype will probably fly this summer. Establishing the fuselage in the series production will be at the end of this year. Additionally to our Duo Discus x-Mock up we had hung up the Ventus-2cxa of the double World Champion Werner Meuser above our stand area which had made its maiden flight two weeks ago. This impressing elegant silhouette with the modified "a-fuselage" was optimally presented above our exhibition area. The Total Rescue System of the company Streifeneder was to be seen in the Discus-2cR. Since December 2006 the total rescue system is now also available in 18m sailplanes. The company Güntert and Kohlmetz showed the NOAH Emergency Exit Assist System on their own stand in a Ventus-2cT. This NOHA System is available in new gliders ex factory or can be retrofitted in most used glider types by LTB Güntert and Kohlmetz. In case of an emergency exit with the parachute a clear safety gain is now possible, also in types with motor. The fair and the dialogue with a large number of pilots were successful, informative and it confirmed our model and firm politics.
