Impressive Start of the Season with Great Flights

This week, the season started with a some spectacular flights on Schempp-Hirth gliders.

We are very impressed about some flights made on Schempp-Hirth gliders during the past few days in the Alps - and out of Belgium:

On Wednesday, Giorgio Galetto flew 1252 km on his new Ventus starting in Italy.

Also on Wednesday, Tijl Schmelzer flew 1009 km from Belgium on his Ventus-2cxT.

On their Arcus M and starting in Lienz, Austria, Tobias Welsch and Marcel Unmuth flew 1200 km last Wednesday - and topped this already remarkable performance yesterday by flying 1490 km:

On both flights, Tobias and Macrel were challenged by Max Milstrey and Oliver Schwenk, wo flew nearly as far on their Arcus M - 1165 km on Wednesday and 1450 km yesterday.

For me, one of the most outstanding flights was performed by Davide Giovanelli on Wednesday out of Locarno, Switzerland: He flew 985 km on a STANDARD CIRRUS!!!

Congratulations on all these fantastic performances! You surely set the benchmark very high this early in the year.
