Yesterday late afternoon, Schempp-Hirth engineer Joachim Krauter performed the first extensive flight tests of the new Ventus with 15m wingspan. He was more than delighted about the harmonic flight characteristics and perfect harmony of the controls.

CEO Tilo Holighaus was keen to try it out himself and landed also with a big smile on his face. Happiest of all, however, was probably Derren Francis, proud owner of F2, who tested his glider in this new configuration in a last flight before sunset.

The 15m wingtips have been carefully designed from scratch and optimised in the proven cooperation between Mark D. Maughmer, PhD., Dr. Werner Würz and the team of Schempp-Hirth engineers, while the moulds were produced by Hanko Streifeneder.
