Will always get you home.
Should you run out of lift, you can always rely on the turbo engine. Not every pilot needs the adventure of a nightly retrieval by trailer. With the turbo engine, you can plan your long-distance flights a lot better. The useful and simple sustainer system needs very little attention and maintenance. At minimal additional weight, the turbo engine turns an Arcus into an Arcus T.
Reliable and Simple Activation
If thermal conditions let you down, you simply activate a switch to automatically extract the 22 kW SOLO two-stroke engine by an electrical spindle drive supported by a gas spring. The engine can be easily started using the windmill effect - you just pull and then let go of the decompression handle as instructed in the display of the engine control unit.
The noise-optimized multi-blade foldable propeller runs at full power, eliminating the need for a starter, choke or throttle.
When done, just switch it off.
Once you have reached the desired altitude, the engine gets stopped and retracted by a simple click.
Backseat drivers supported.
The optional second engine control unit supports operating the engine from the back seat as well as from the front seat. With this option installed, the back seat can be declared as the seat of the responsible pilot, allowing you to fly guests seated in the front seat.

Standard Equipment and Options
In case of top-heaviness, the tail tank can be filled with water to improve the flight quality.
Only compatible with the 18m wing. Especially for self-launching sailplanes, the wing tip wheels ease the starting.
Avoids cracking due to low temperatures as well as yellowing of the surface
Attention: Fluorierend paint is not permanently UV resistent and may fade over time
Attention: Flourecend paint is not permanently UV resistent and may bleach out over time.
Required when the pilot in command is in the rear seat
Further Arcus models:
Performance benchmarks in the Two-Seater Class have been re-defined by the Arcus. Whether clubs are aiming to achieve OLC top positions or privat pilots plan record flights, competition results or interesting safari flights - the Arcus provides the ideal means to put these ideas into practice. The joint flight experience will double your pleasure and success.
Even though designed for self-launch capabilities without compromises, the Arcus is still an extremely agile two-seater with very balanced flight characteristics. The motorglider’s performance spectrum reaches from ambitious cross-country flights to unbelievable record flights and regularly puts the self-launching Arcus into top positions in competitions and championships.
Thanks to the electric engine system proven in Lange Aviation's Antares series, the Arcus E flies silently, with little vibration and no exhaust fumes and with remarkable take-off performance. The almost legendary Arcus handling combined with the super-simple and reliable engine control makes the Arcus E probably the most advanced glider of its class.
