Horizontal tailplane fitting, rear part
This item is part of the horizontal tailplane fixation back system of all the modern Schempp-Hirth gliders.
Please note that the first gliders with that system (like the first Nimbus-2b) as well as the Discus CS have been equipped with a slightly different models. If you are not sure of which model you need, please contact Schempp-Hirth Spare Part.
To change this part you may also need screws and washers that can be added as an option.

Horizontal tailplane fitting, snap lock
This item is part of the stabilizer fixation of all the modern Schempp-Hirth gliders.
It is possible to replace or change it for a bigger pin diameter to compensate the ageing of the parts on the stabilizer.
This item is delivered with 4 allen screw M06x30 - 8.8, DIN 912 / ISO 4762 galvanized (L01-0119) and 4 Schnorr-safety washer M6 (L01-0378).

Elevator U-bracket
This item is part of the elevator control and horizontal tailplane fixation back system of all the modern Schempp-Hirth gliders. Please note that the first gliders with that system (like the first Nimbus-2b) as well as the Discus CS have been equipped with a slightly different models. If you are not sure of which model you need, please contact Schempp-Hirth Spare Part.
When you remove the previous U-bracket, keep the screws! If they are not damaged, we advise you to use them again. However, we are providing new lock washers.
If you also need the screws, the reference are: 2x 6k screws 06036 LN 9037 and 4x 6k screws M06x18 - 8.8 DIN933 / ISO 4017 (See suggested products).

Tesa foam for horiz. tailplane sealing
This sealing is critical to limit the ageing of the horizontal tailplane fixation mechanisms. We advise you to renew it every couple of years.
Description: Tesa foam 9 x 4 mm, 10 m by roll.
For a simple installation, you can instead buy premade form that can be easily adapted to single seater and double seater.

Single seater horiz. tailplane sealing for all Discus-2, Ventus-2 and the Ventus-3 performance
This sealing is critical to limit the ageing of the horizontal tailplane fixation mechanisms. We advise you to renew it every couple of years.
The form is 94,98 x 370,00 mm. It is designed for the Discus, Ventus-2c and Ventus-3 Performance. It may also be possible to adapt it for older gliders. If you prefer, you can make the form yourself using a Tesa Foam roll.

This brass bushing is part of the lower framework of the rudder fin on Ventus-2, Discus-2, Ventus-3 sport, all Duo Discus and Arcus (except Arcus M).
Careful: on rare cases, gliders need a slightly larger head: 2 mm instead of 1 mm (see picture). Please look carefully at your actual part to buy the same model. If you need the 2 mm version, please contact us.
On older gliders the diameter of the head is 14mm instead of 16mm. See bellow the suggested products.

The classic Schempp-Hirth tailwheel,

This is the original Schempp-Hirth tailwheel. It is used in almost all gliders except for the steerable wheel of the Ventus-2cM, Quintus, Arcus M and Ventus-3 Performance.
Two models are available. This one does not contain leid and weights 0,930 kg. The other model is golden-coloured and can weight 2,6 or 3,6 kg. Please, order the model that is already on your glider or do a new weight and balance measurement.
