Modern wing aerofoils with their very long laminar flow, as used for the Arcus, make it necessary to ensure that the Mylar seal is always in good condition.
Among other things, the seals bridge the gaps of the flaperons on the lower side of the wing and must be flat enough to allow a laminar flow over the gap.
Lately, we have developed a method which further improves this laminar flow by very simple modifications in combination with a reshaped Mylar seal.
In any case it is worthwhile to exchange the Mylar seal at shorter intervals, at least on the lower side. This avoids giving away performance potential and is therefore highly recommended before participating in important competitions.
