Look forward to a flight experience like you have never felt before. Effortlessly call on incredible performance. Honest, direct feedback provides you with a reassuring sense of reliability. Combine this with unrivalled agility and become one with the glider to uncover hidden potential. It doesn’t matter whether you are in the Sport Edition or Performance Edition or whether you fly with 18 Meters or prefer the speedy 15 Meter wing tips.
From your first aero-tow you will notice the Ventus’ remarkable manoeuvrability. Immediate and fast roll rates convey agility and control while thermalling.
Whilst in very steep turns, the glider’s remar kable inherent stability is always providing a sense of reserve, allowing you to sponta neously pull even tighter into the thermal‘s core. This “grip” is remarkable – the feeling of light-footedness and precise manoeuvrability turns the centering of a thermal into a playful game of continuous climb rate improvement.
While the striking wing layout sets new levels of thermal exploitation, the ultrathin airfoil design also improves the cruise.
Combined, our ultimate design target has been achieved: Increased cross-country speed.
You will simply fly faster.
In particular when only weak thermal energy is available, the Ventus is in its element. With a modern wing layout and aerofoil, the new design conveys safety and trust particularly when flown with full water ballast.
On weak competition days, which often determine overall results, the glider’s climbing performance gives you another competitive edge: You can keep your water ballast and quickly return to high cruise speeds after periods of weak thermals.
To cover the broad bandwidth of customer wishes, the new Ventus is offered in two editions. The Performance Edition is optimised for self-launch capability and provides upscale levels of comfort, while the Sport Edition has been reduced to the essentials with a sporty and elegant, ergonomic cockpit layout.
Its optional 15m wingtips have been completely designed from scratch and were given new winglets which have been optimised for the smaller wing span. Available for both editions, they turn the new Ventus into a highly agile, perfectly balanced racing class glider which will let you experience the 15m Class in a new way.
Depending on the edition, the following engine options are available:
Enhanced Comfort and Safety.
The front-opening canopy of the re- designed Performance Edition fuselage provides enhanced comfort getting in and out of the sophisticated cockpit and offers a great deal of space.
Featuring aerodynamic improvements like integrated bug wiper garages, it still remains one of the slimmest fuselages on the market capable of housing a powerful selflaunching engine. The interior showcases the impressive work manship of its visual carbon surfaces.
Also implementing the latest CS-22 design regulations, it combines maximum safety & comfort with sophisticated interior and looks.
Independent Performance lets you take off when you want to.
Right from the start, the New Ventus Performance Edition has been designed to provide ultimate independence by being able to self-launch.
A new Solo engine with electronically controlled injection system and a reduced reduction ratio for a nicer engine noise pro- vides the new Ventus with more than 60 hp, delivering powerful climb performance even on high-terrain, short take-off sites or at high outdoor temperatures. With the introduction of an automatic redundancy system "Neo", the Ventus receives more safety without the pilot having to actively intervene.
A rudderintegrated steerable tail wheel and underwing wheels provide independent maneuverability on the ground, similar to the system known and loved by all of our Arcus M pilots.
A propeller stopper and the brand-new ILEC engine control unit with TFT colour display and propeller stopper make operating the system child’s play. In case of problems, clear messages provide comprehensive assistance.
The combination of independence by self-launch-capability with the new Ventus’ proven superiority and its inspiring flight characteristics creates the freedom to achieve top performance flights anywhere in the World.

Take a (nice) Seat.
The Sport Edition’s new fuselage has been re-created from nose to tail. A technically elegant look with beautiful carbon fibre visible, laser-engraved stainless steel, a new ventilation system with fully adjustable outlets and many other improvements characterize the fundamentally re-designed and ergonomically optimized cockpit.
With sporty comfort delivering maximum feedback, the cockpit still provides sufficient space for taller pilots, while implementation of the latest design regulations increases crash protection even further.
Always make it Home.
Sometimes, even the best flight performance isn’t enough. To avoid landing out, or simply to bridge areas of bad lift, the new Ventus’ Sport Edition can be equipped with the proven, simple and reliable Schempp-Hirth Turbo sustainer engine system.
Alternatively the Front Electric Sustainer (FES) system is an silent, environmentally friendly and ultra-modern electric option, that allows you to experience gliding in a completely new way.

Questions and answers
Each Ventus´ Sport Edition is equipped with a engine compartment for a later installation of the turbo system. So an upgrade to the turbo system is always possible.
To make the upgrade easier and therefor cheaper, wie recommend, to choose the option "prepared turbo installation". This option includes the fitted flaps for the engine compartment.
A upgrade with a FES-System is principal possible, but due technical reasons associated with much more work than a configuration with a FES-Engine from the beginning.
With the introduction of an automatic redundancy system, the Ventus-3M gets more safety without the pilot having to actively intervene. The system, known as "Neo“, developed by engine manufacturer Solo on the basis of the 60 hp two-cylinder 2626 01i unit, now has two injectors in each cylinder in addition to the already dual ignition system. Throttle valve and speed sensors, fuel pumps and the entire wiring are also duplicated. All redundant components are designed so that one of them is sufficient for operation. The control system switches back and forth between the two components unnoticed every few seconds. If one redundant component fails, the system continues to run unchanged. The pilot is informed by an alarm on the display and must acknowledge it. The incident with associated parameters is stored in the memory of the control system and allows an evaluation of the causes of the failure after the flight. Retrofitting of previous models is not possible at present.
