German team wins gold at the 40th FAI WGC in Poland

The 40th FAI World Gliding Championships in Częstochowa-Rudniki, Poland, brought together the world’s best glider pilots for two exciting weeks of competition.

With outstanding results, the German team won the team gold medal and, after 14 days of competition, held a total of three gold and two bronze medals. Congratulations to the entire team!

We are particularly pleased with the first-place finish by Karsten Leucker and Jan Omsels, who won in the 20m two-seater class with their Arcus T. As expected, the Arcus clearly dominated this class. The special trust this aircraft enjoys becomes clear when looking at the field of participants: 14 out of 16 competitors flew the Arcus, and places 1 through 12 were occupied exclusively by Arcus crews. Our congratulations also go to the runners-up, Łukasz Grabowski and Judyta Czyż in the Arcus M, followed by Péter Kassai and Zoltán Mészáros in the Arcus T. Mario Kießling also delivered an outstanding performance, flying his Ventus-3 into the top ranks. We offer our heartfelt congratulations.
