Sailplane Grand Prix in Vinon – Mario Kiessling dominates the Southern Alps with the Ventus-3

Twenty pilots competed for victory in seven thrilling races under the challenging flying conditions of the Southern Alps.

Throughout the competition, Mario Kiessling made an impressive mark with his Ventus-3. The German top pilot dominated the entire competition week and impressingly secured the overall victory with a total of four daily wins. In the final race over 213 kilometers, he crossed the finish line at an average speed of 161.8 km/h, thus making his overall success perfect.

With 56 points, “Super-Mario” won the overall standings well ahead of France’s Didier Hauss, who scored 36 points. At the same time, his victory qualified him for the world finals of the Sailplane Grand Prix series.

The success in Vinon once again unterlines the Ventus 3’s high-performance capabilities — especially in direct racing, where speed, tactical acumen, and precise flying under demanding alpine conditions determine victory or defeat.

In addition to Mario, six other pilots competed in the event flying the Ventus-3. Of those, four alone finished in the top 10. Congratulations to Mario and the other top finishers.
