Elevator U-bracket

This item is part of the elevator control and horizontal tailplane fixation back system of all the modern Schempp-Hirth gliders. Please note that the first gliders with that system (like the first Nimbus-2b) as well as the Discus CS have been equipped with a slightly different models. If you are not sure of which model you need, please contact Schempp-Hirth Spare Part.
When you remove the previous U-bracket, keep the screws! If they are not damaged, we advise you to use them again. However, we are providing new lock washers.
If you also need the screws, the reference are: 2x 6k screws 06036 LN 9037 and 4x 6k screws M06x18 - 8.8 DIN933 / ISO 4017 (See suggested products).

Description
This item is in all modern Schempp-Hirth gliders. Some older gliders that have been modified also use it. Please look at the picture to be sure that this is the part you need. As for all the part we are selling online, you need to ensure that the person doing the replacement is entitled to do it and has the skills to do so.
Schempp-Hirth advice: Adjust carefully the tightness of the horizontal tailplane using the excentric bolt to avoid blocking the horiontal tailplane.
The EASA Form 1 is included when needed.

Elevator transition for Duo Discus, Arcus and Nimbus-4D
This part can be adapted to fit the Duo Discus, Duo Discus X, Duo Discus XL, as well as the Arcus, Arcus Edition 2020, and Nimbus-4D.
It measures approximately 147 mm in width and 157 mm in length.
Please note that the part is sold in an untrimmed form, so you will need to cut it to ensure a proper fit for your glider.

Tesa foam for horiz. tailplane sealing
This sealing is critical to limit the ageing of the horizontal tailplane fixation mechanisms. We advise you to renew it every couple of years.
Description: Tesa foam 9 x 4 mm, 10 m by roll.
For a simple installation, you can instead buy premade form that can be easily adapted to single seater and double seater.
